"APA-Kigali (Rwanda) The National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) has introduced new currency coins and banknotes to work concurrently with the old banknotes, the national bank official in charge of operations, Apolinelle Murasira said here Tuesday.
In an interview in Kigali, Murasira said the old 100 note will continue to be used until new instructions from the national bank, noting that the new coin is intended to facilitate money usage and management in the country. “The note was getting old but more important is that the coin is easy to carry and keep,” Murasira said, adding that the coin has been given clear national symbols that are not simple for counterfeiting."
