Statistics organ gets ICT boost

BY INNOCENT GAHIGANA of The New Times

"The Rwanda Information and Technology Authority (RITA) and the National Institute of Statistics (NISR) Thursday signed a deal for a hi-tech support system.

The pact, signed at Telecom House, will see both parties join hands in statistical data collection, analysis, dissemination, storage and usage for national interests.

NISR Director General, Dr Louis Munyakazi, noted that application of modern technology systems in data compilation will replace the current manual work operations."
