Chinese, Rwandese relations soar at $22m export growth

Trade between Rwanda and China has increased to 45 per cent according to a report from the Chinese embassy in Kigali. The report also says the volume of trade increased by 38.6 per cent towards by the end of 2007. The size of Chinese exports to Rwanda has also grown over a period of time to US$ 22m by the end of 2007.

The report also says that the government of Rwanda is in talks with Imports and Export Bank of China on how to utilize a $ 30m facility on standby. This facility is to be utilized on reconstruction of 40km of roads within Kigali City. Rwandan officials say the project is at an assessment stage.
